Course Description
Do you notice that some writers never use semicolons—because they don’t know how?
Join us for this Pesky Punctuation webinar to examine the many talents of the “semi” and explore other questions such as when to hyphenate compounds (that depends), how to use possessive apostrophes (that also depends), and when to use colons, em dashes, and commas (you guessed it—these all depend, too).
As editors, we know that context rules the day. If you want to take a deep dive into the style books to see what they prescribe, though, let’s do this together. We’ll look at lots of examples—some of which you can contribute—to take the mystery out of those murky marks!
